Project: Fully automated handling system for an individual fuel cell, incl. handling bipolar plates, printing of seal, feeding of MEA (film) and clipping of the individual cell by means of a robot

SUBPROJECT: Engineering of a production and testing technique to produce the seal unit in graphite NT/HT fuel cells

Within the scope of the engineering project, equipment was created to perform the following functions

  • Picking up bipolar plates from stack
  • Silk screen printing of the seal
  • Heating/ drying of the seal
  • Feeding and lay-up of the MEA
  • Clipping of the individual cell

for automated assembly of fuel cells.
