"A test bed is a device or fixture by means of which it is possible to inspect a technical subject based on its characteristics in a reproducible manner" (Wikipedia). Whether as a stand-alone or integrated system, within the assembly process or just at the end  - test stations and test beds secure the quality of the products manufactured.
